Every year at Venus Beauty & Hair we support a charity for the entire year. We also like to champion a local charity or group as we feel its important to support local.

This year we were pleased to announce live on Radio Walkham that Lee Spencer, aka The Rowing Marine, was our 2019 charity of the year.

Lee Spencer served in the Royal Marines for 24 years but lost his right leg after being hit by flying debris as he was helping a motorist who had crashed into the central reservation of the M3 in Surrey in 2014. Since then Lee has gone on to do so many amazing things. Currently Lee is aiming to be the world’s first physically disabled person to row (unsupported and solo) from Gibraltar and Venezuela.

To find out more about Lee and his history and current journey head to our blog.

We are so pleased to be supporting Lee for the whole year and hope that we can add to his fundraising through our own events. Until then, please give what you can in our collection tin located in reception of Venus.
