An exhibition filled with talented beauty therapists, new launches and in our case a lot of glitter!
For those of you who visit the salon will know that the last 2 years we have been lucky enough to go to Spain and Portugal respectively for Milkshake’s end of summer party. A weekend filled with sun, sea and all things hair. But this year it was time for beauty to take centre stage. Step forward a weekend in London and a visit to Olympia Beauty.
Olympia Beauty is a 2 day event covering everything the world of beauty has to offer from make up to teeth whitening, it really does have it all.
For us it was exploring the competition area. An area Kirsty has previously dipped her toe into and is thinking about revisiting. The range of competitions that you can enter is vast and each competition has such a high calibre of beauty therapists/nail technicians/lash technicians. From Nailympia to Lash Wars it’s so interesting to see the intricate detail that everyone has to commit too.
Seeing the competition up close got Kirsty’s creative juices flowing once again and notes have been made to start looking into competitions again.
After the upstairs competition area it was time to visit the stands. Olympia is used to showcase new products and to show off new skills. We knew we had 2 musts to tick off by the end of play: Nail Harmony/Gelish and Magpie Beauty.
And let’s just stay both left us feeling very excited. We’ve been keeping our eye on Gelish’s PolyGel for a reason and seeing it being used by Nail Harmony’s best of the best, well, where do we sign up. The application, how you can use the Gelish with the PolyGel, and the additional artwork that you can create. You can create it in less than half the time if you were using any original acrylic system.
And at the Magpie Beauty stand, well they called their company Magpie for a reason! New glitters and gems for nail art were added to our basket and our client’s are already loving what we brought back.
Show completed it was time to take advantage of London and everything the city had to offer. The weekend was filled up with good food, some exploring and gorgeous views by the river and of course a few bottles of bubbles, after all it would be rude not to!
