A weekend in the sun learning more about one of our passions

As many of our clients will know, we were lucky enough to head out as a team to Spain at the end of September.

The reason for our trip? Concept host an annual summer party for hair stylists and salons around the world. It was such a fantastic opportunity for us to go as a salon. After 18 months of being in our new premises and as a new business we were so excited that we were able to go on this venture. To meet other salons, stylists and the people behind the products we use. concept are the company behind Milkshake and No Inhibition. Both these brands we champion in the salon and believe that their products are the best and what helps to make our salon stand out. At Venus we use Milkshake from start to finish; all our colours, shampoos, conditioners, leave in treatments, styling and retail is Milkshake. Milkshake's philosophy is a simple one; 'use the power and beauty of nature to achieve gorgeous hair for all occasions.' Their products use natural ingredients which help improve the strength and condition of your hair. Our clients love it and so do we!

We also use the No Inhibition range for styling; our favourites are the Moulding Mudd, Volumizing Powder and Volumizing Hairspray; our salon would be lost without them.

But back to the trip; it was a great mix of down time and seeing the Milkshake world.

Our down time was spent exploring Alicante's coast line, enjoying the sun (a rarity for us who usually spend our September's in Devon!)

Our first taste of what concept had to offer was also our chance to dress up: the hair show and gala dinner. And yes, we lived up to the salon stereotype and attended all in black.

Seeing how some of the top stylists used the products we've grown to love so much in our own salon. After the hair show and gala it was time to put on our dancing shoes and that we did! It's safe to say that no Venus night out is complete without a few cheers, some dodgy dance moves and a lot of laughter!

Before we knew it, the final evening had rolled around and it was time for the final party and networking event of the trip. Two words: FANCY DRESS, theme: HAWAIIAN.

There was a lot beach wear, a shark (before the heat got the better of John), a surf board and a Hawaiian pizza.

The trip was a fantastic way to finish a busy summer before our ever busy winter period starts. The hotel and venues within the hotel were pretty spectacular and it was hard to leave that final morning. It's a trip we'd definitely consider again; a great company event, a lot of laughs, fantastic cocktails and an amazing salon trip.
