We've heard all the negatives that people associate with sunshowers; skin cancer, ageing, they burn etc. but what if this isn't the case? What if there was more than meets the eye; something more than just getting a nice, even sun tan?

Looking after your skin in the sun remains an important factor for anyone. It doesn't matter whether you are outside in the garden, on a beach or inside a cubicle in a salon, the care you take to protect your skin is one you should always take seriously. This is is why at Venus we require you to have a minimum of 48 hours before each session in the sunshower. So safety is paramount, but there are countless benefits to the sunshower.

In a recent beauty magazine the issue of debunking the tanning industries negativity was highlighted:

We couldn't agree more with Jones' thoughts. Sunshowers benefit people in more areas than you may think.

- SKIN -

Of course people choose the sun shower want that healthy glow but the UVB lights can also have a bigger impact on the skin. It can help adult acne, psoriasis and gives skin that boost of vitamin D (something that doesn't always come thick and fast in Devon!)

- COLLATAN TUBES -

Our sunshower is installed with collatan tubes: pink tubes. These tubes help release collagen into the skin helping to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, wrinkles and scarring.

- THE MENTAL + PHYSICAL -

The heat from the sunshower can help ease the aches and pains in your joints. And, as mentioned before, it really does help with your vitamin D levels. We can't stress how important vitamin D is- it really has an enormous effect on your health and well-being. It boosts the immune system, is essential for healthy bones and can help with depressions.

As Jones' states, sun showers can help change your mood; they can help build confidence. There is even research that says it can help with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). Winter can be long at the best of times but if you suffer with SAD, winter can feel like a lifetime. Sessions on the sun shower can help with this; the heat and the light has a positive impact on those who regularly use it.

The sunshower has so many benefits and we honestly believe that if you use the sunshower wisely it can really become an asset to you. Keep your eyes peeled on the blog for our top tis on using the sunshower.
